So I finally decided that it was time for the first gen iPhone to go although it was a great phone especially when it was unlocked. When I stubmbled upon the Cliq I knew this phone was perfect and that I had to have it, plus being an impulse buyer doesn't help. All the cool features it has and the way it links social networking into a device is something new and exciting. Motorola with the combination of their own personal invention called MotoBLUR teamed up with T-mobile and Android to put them back on the map.

Lukas 350z-Downtown Joliet
So last Sunday, Lukas wanted a shoot of his project 350z which in the past few months is really coming together nicely. I was thinking of a few places to shoot but really couldn't think of any place that would really fit his car. I have been to downtown Joliet only a few times in my life and it is a very different place lemme tell ya. You never really know what you are going to expect when you go there so that is an adventure all on its own. I sort of went there on a hunch not really knowing what to expect and most importantly where I was going to shoot. We got there at around 7 after a very exciting and fast drive down 355 and I-80, and it was already starting to get pretty dark out which I was not very happy about. Shooting black cars at night with poor lighting is the least ideal conditions a photographer can ask for, but I had to make due with my resources. We drove around the city for about 10 minutes or so before finding the first spot which was a small little alley-like enclosure. We snapped a couple of shots there before heading down to the other spots which were walking distance away. As you look at Lukas's Z you see it is a very tastefully modded Nissan with subtle mods. The 18" Enkei Wheels really add a nice touch to the clean lines of Nissan's 350z. The blacked-out look keeps an aggressive attitude that turns heads when this thing rolls around. Another attention drawer is the HKS Hi-power exhaust that roars when he steps on the throttle. Nothing to loud, just the right note to make that 3.5L Nissan VQ motor be heard. Back to the shoot, the next spot was in front of Joliet's Rialto Theater. The street was empty and I spotted this and knew this was were we would fire off a few quick shots. Good thing Joliet police weren't outside because I don't think they would have liked me sitting in the street taking these pics, cuz I sure as hell know the people weren't. The final spot was under the railroad tracks in a small underpass where the lighting gives off an erie feeling which was the perfect place to end the night. We snapped a few shots here and then headed home. It was definitely a fun place to shoot the car and I will surely be back there again. I will keep following the build of his ride and keep all of you updated to stay posted.

Amazing HDR
So I found this picture in my harddrive of the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National park, CA. Its a gorgeous hotel and this shot was perfect for HDR so I put the RAW file into 5 different exposures and went to town! This is not the full res shot because the actual file is 116mb which is insane and so heres the compressed file but it still looks pretty good

Warehouse night attempt-Fail
So we went back to the warehouse to shoot around the G35 and the Turbo Scion, nothing really came out good and I was very upset! I did manage to get a sick rolling shot of the G35 while I stood on the trunk of the car as mike drove. Keith showed up with the 240 and I got a few of those that turned out decent. I also got pulled over for the first time that night because of Expired plates, WTF. Oh well drifting the car around made up for it! Enjoy
